From One Beginner to Another: Breathe In, Breathe out.

If you’re like me, dealing with anxiousness is a constant part of your life, and that’s okay. There are ways we can handle anxiety such as using the power of breath-work.

When we become anxious, breathing tends to get strained and the abdominal muscles that support the diaphragm become tensed, all of which prevents deep breathing. If we take the moment to slow down and focus on taking deep breaths, then we can soften our abdomen and send a message to our nervous system that our mind and body is safe.

Remember that the next time you’re beginning your practice and beginning taking deep breaths. Just breathe in, breathe out, and everything will be okay.
