It’s A Block Party!

“What are those for?”

Looking around a yoga studio, you will see blocks, straps and bolsters that may be unfamiliar to you and how to incorporate them into your practice.

Sometimes teachers ask you to get one item before class.

Sometimes the dreaded happens. You are in a posture thinking you’ve mastered it, and the instructor hands you a prop.

“WHAT? I was nailing it!”

Props are used to grow your practice. They assist with proper alignment and allow your body to dive deeper into postures.

Many yogis mistakenly see props as merely a tool for beginners. Once you are able to touch the ground, they are never used again.

WRONG!

Props allow you to get into poses that might seem impossible otherwise and also allow you to stay in postures for longer periods of time.

Learning how to use blocks, straps, and the lines on your mat will help reduce injury, lengthen your arms and legs for better posture, provide stability and comfort, and allow you to gain more access in poses.

Intrigued about props?

Titanium Yoga has a solution for you!

Our wonderful instructor Sierra is hosting a playful workshop that will include a full yoga practice including warm up, core strengthening, sun salutations, standing poses, twists, backbends, forward bends, inversions and relaxation, all practiced with the use of props to get a different experience.

After this workshop, we want you to be excited to incorporate props into every class.

Come join us for a BLOCK PARTY!
